THE LUME

In 2019, as a motion graphics designer and multimedia designer at Grande Experiences (previously known as Grande Exhibitions), I had the opportunity to contribute to the creation of multi-sensory travelling exhibitions, which have since become renowned as'THE LUME' and 'Van Gogh Alive'.

Collaborated closely with a talented team, I had the opportunity to bring Van Gogh's narrative to life through dynamic visuals, seamlessly blending art, technology, and storytelling.

Throughout the project, I carefully designed and animated the title sequences, ensuring they captured the essence of Van Gogh's artistic journey while captivating the audience from the moment they entered each exhibition section.

Additionally, I undertook the challenge of creating the Sakura section, carefully integrating Japanese cultural elements to authentically portray a significant period in Van Gogh's life.

This involved meticulously crafting visuals and animations that captured the beauty of cherry blossoms and seamlessly merged them with Van Gogh's artistry.

I have also contributed to the seamless flow of the exhibitions by designing and implementing transition effects, ensuring smooth and visually captivating transitions between different sections, both within the immersive 360 projection dome and the main exhibition space, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in his artistic journey in these Multi-sensory Experiences.

Working on THE LUME exhibition and Van Gogh Alive was an exhilarating experience that deepened my understanding of motion graphics, multimedia design, and the power of visual storytelling. It provided me with a unique opportunity to contribute to large-scale, internationally recognized exhibitions and hone my skills in creating impactful and immersive experiences through motion graphics and multimedia design.

THE LUME and Van Gogh Alive has been exhibiting in major cities in Australia such as Melbourne (Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre), Sydney, Perth as well as internationally in Frankfurt, Kobe, Bangkok and more.

My responsibilities included designing impactful title animations for each section of the exhibitions, effectively conveying Van Gogh's life story through simplified and powerful motion graphics.

Additionally, I took charge of developing the Sakura section, representing the Japanese aspect of Van Gogh's life, and creating transition effects and exhibition content, including Van Gogh's life story presented in the immersive 360 exhibition dome.
